Continuing my Grateful Mondays series on our YouTube channel, this Monday I chose to talk about Marriage and motherhood. This June I’ll be married for 11 years and this April will be 10 years since I became a mother.
For our marriage, I am very grateful; the beauty in experiencing God’s love and grace. Learning constantly to love and be loved without limitations. Giving and receiving grace over and over. Being broken together as two sinners covered by God’s grace. To my husband, I am thankful; to God, I am grateful for this gift.
And being mom of two, I constantly get to love my children with Grace. At times undeserving grace. Through my children, I get to see my own brokenness as a sinner.
Seeing how deep my love for my children stretches helps me understand that God’s love for me/us as his children is much bigger. He’s a loving God; patient, graceful and full of forgiveness.
For my two little ones, I am forever grateful.

I love being married too. What a joy to spend a life with one other human being. But in rough times, I remember President Jimmy Carter’s quip,”Marriage teaches you all sorts of things you wouldn’t need to know unless you were married.”
Ohhhhhhh boy, marriage teaches us a lot of things that are hard to imagine if not married.
