You Need:
- 3 cups unbleached AP flour
- 2 Tsp baking powder
- 1 Tsp Sea Salt
- 1/3 Cup unrefined coconut oil
- 1 Cup Hot Water
How To:
If you are using a stand mixer;
- Add the first three ingredients to the mixer bowl and combine by hand.
- Add the coconut oil and mix for 5 min
- Add hot water and kneed for 10 min on medium speed
- Form into 1 dozen (12) dough balls of equal size and let rest for 10 min.
- Heat a cast iron skillet at medium heat
- Roll out a dough ball at a time and cook on the skillet; each side should cook for 2-3 min. You will see bubbles form when it’s time to turn it.
Enjoy!
P.S. This was the first time making tortillas and my 8 year old boy took care of the cooking for his mama.
His supper time pray “Thank you Lord for the privilege of helping make the tortillas”.
As a mother, I am thankful for having made yet another memory with my baby boy.
Thanks for this, my love. Looks super easy, which is exactly what we need, right! 😉

Thank you 💝. It’s very easy and fun to make.💖
they sound so yummy. a must try! x
You bet they are😁.
Nice to see your son lending his hand & thrilled to hear his prayer !!
He was very excited!. Am usually extra protective when it comes to my munchkins being around the stove but he begged to start helping.😁
🙂
Similar to Syrian bread, used to make Beirut.
Sounds good. In Uganda we used to make chapatis that are pretty much similar in taste. For meals they are stuffed with a scrumbled egg and veggies to make what they call a rolex. 😁
Ok, here in Brasil we call beirut. it’s great!
I wrote down your recipe, it’s a very easy to make and healthy dough.
When I bought it in the market it had many chemical ingredients, so I did not use it.
It’s very easy and yummy.
I thought tortillas were vegan. Maybe some aren’t. Nice picture of the junior cooks.
😁. One would think. The classic tortilla recipe that most people or restaurants use has Lard(pig fat). Most will argue that one cannot make good tortillas without that “magic fat”. I would rather have coconut oil 😁😁.
It is only chappathi.
That’s right.
Thank you for this great vegan recipe! 🙏🏻
My joy.💝
These sound so fun!!!
They are…you can use whole wheat instead of AP.
May God bless you and your children! And thanks for that simple recipe
Thank you my dearest.💝
Yummy!
They are super yummy.
Thanks for the recipe. I’ll try it. Tortilla wrappers are quite expensive in the supermarket.
Most definitely. Let me know how it turns out.😁
These look good! We will be giving them a go here at Go Vego!
Hahaha. You should try them them. They are soft and delicious. You can make them with whole wheat flour and also freezable.❤
Wow, these look so good. I will definitely need to try !!
They are very good. Especially with a tomato soup this time of the year. 😁
Oh yes, I bet…mmm..so hungry now…ha
🌹
Ahh love this! X
Thank you. They are very easy to make and delicious.
.
so sweet you included your kids in the kitchen with you, i love that! great recipe!
Thank you Sarah. The kids wish they could do more but I worry we may burn the house down 😁.
That looks so legit!
They are great!
I’ve never even considered making tortillas before but you make this look so easy! Thank you for sharing!
They are super easy and fun to make.
I’m going to have to give these a go! I’ve been looking for good vegan tortillas for a long time – I never thought to make my own at home
They are super simple!
Definitely going to try these this week!
I am sure you will like them. Let me know how they turn out or other new ideas on how to perhaps create a different flavor.
