Yes!
They freely roll
Down like river Mississippi
With a hint of blood
.
Effortlessly
They roll down little cheeks
Like summer thunder
Hitting dry ground
.
Child,
Little child cries
Little child wails
From a hurting belly
For bread crumbs
.
No
There’s no other reason
But hunger!
Hunger
That hurts little one
Hunger
That causes little one
To beg
Hunger
That has little one
Trying to survive
.
Little one tries
Little one cries
In our very presence.

Heart breaking poem dear. Your words have amazing power!
Thank you my dearest Shivangi. My inspiration for this piece was from Uganda. Watching a little kid on the street beg so they can eat. As a mother, it breaks my heart to pieces. That simple bare necessity should at least be available for little ones.
This is a great one!
Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much my dear.
so haunting…
It is heart shattering to me.
😦

Thank you. I wish it were fiction, sadly it’s reality for many little ones.💝
I am so sorry..
