I loved wearing it;
It was my favorite
my market day wear
my Sunday best
Perhaps my daily pick.
My memories; the good and bad
were wrapped up in my tiered skirt.
I called it Chaka Chaka;
my Chaka Chaka
after my favorite African song bird
my Yvonne; Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
I knew that
I could be
I could dream
I could do just about…
anything and everything
In my tiered skirt; my Chaka Chaka

Love the rhythm of this piece…love the brilliant flower. 🙂
Thank you very much 🌹
Whatever happened to this tiered skirt and the memories, good and bad, wrapped up in it? 🙂 This brought a smile to my face, especially Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
It’s been many seasons since I last wore my tiered skirt. I was a Yvonne Chaka Chaka girl hands down; her music used to be my moment to just be. I would dance without a care in the world. Glad you could smile 💝

Same for me and my seahorse bathing suit. I rocked the ruffled seat!
