The Rose!

cemetery-2140402_1920

That rose perhaps

You should send me today

Tomorrow ain’t for me

“I” may be for the pine box.

Send me the rose

With a note that speaks your heart

Give me the rose and your words

Not in my pine box

Not on my grave

Not with a goodbye wave;

But a hug.

Not in tears for me;

But laughter with me.

Don’t sprinkle me with petals;

Petals of the flower I love the most…

The Rose

After I am laid in my pine box.

Allow me to smell the rose while I can

Give me the smile of a rose

A rose with no sorrow

A rose without regrets.

A rose for my vase; not my casket

A rose for my room; not my grave

A rose for me; not the ground

Give me the rose while I still live!

  1. Thank-you 🌹. As years go by, I continue to observe daily relationships and I must say that it’s amazing how much people are touched at the passing/death of a dear one; one perhaps they never took a day to give a phone call, hold their hand or say something to uplift. I would rather love someone now than cry for them later.💞

  2. I try to paste Rose image,but i could not do.
    So,I present for you and your family:D

  3. Someday, your lovely kids will leave the nest from you, like this.
    Then, you should try to not tears.
    So, now, you should make many memories and laughingly with your kids.
    It’s sooooooooooo hard,I know right? XD!!

  4. I love getting flowers! My husband has planted roses and other flowers in our yard, because he knows I love flowers. He brings some into the kitchen so I can smell them. I too am 6 years cancer free, and yes I want to enjoy the flowers while I live! Great poem.
