Pale body
Still being
Lost grip
I know then it’s death; death of a body.
Faded smile
Lost posture
Lost gesture
No beat
No feel
I know then it’s death; death of a body.
Can’t dream
Can’t hope
Won’t cry
Won’t laugh
No agreeing
No disagreeing
I know then it’s death; death of a body!

‘Can’t dream. Can’t hope’ – Such strong words Susan.
Thank you. We can do dream and hope in this state but not after the death of these bodies. Hugs
Here funerals are preceded by wakes where the body is displayed. I find it does really let you know that the soul has left and only the body remains.
Thank-you again Elizabeth. Absolutely…The body can not be or perhaps do for the soul is out.
That’s gorgeous. I especially like the first line.
