Our little Chele Grace is Cinderella tonight (February 14th). She is holding on tight in her father’s arms dancing to a song that leaves me crying like a baby every time it plays (Cinderella – By: Steven Curtis Chapman).
I have had the best Valentine’s Day yet. Ours was different this time; instead of going out with my husband, he got to take our little girl to a father/daughter dance for her American heritage girls‘ program. But I had the joy of watching this magical moment. Of course it started with flowers from daddy early on, something my husband started doing 2 years ago; (our daughter’s reaction, priceless). She loves receiving flowers from her guy/her daddy. She wanted to make sure she was a little lady for him, so we did take time getting her hair done, asked me to help get her nails trimmed, a shower so she could smell good and yes she asked if she could steal mommy’s valentine for the evening and I said yes! So Daddy was her man for the evening and she was so proud to show him off.
Watching them dance together brought on a whole lot of emotions but also left me praying; Praying for that man that will one day steal her father’s dance. Praying for her heart as she grows to understand her worth in Christ and how that plays out in who gets to have that dance someday. To know that when someone loves her, they will wait no matter what!, they will put her first before themselves, they will treat her like a queen. And yes even after years have gone by, they will still ask for that dance only to show her off as their one and only (something my wonderful husband still does after almost 9 years of marriage).
I believe that one day when the right time comes and the right person comes along, our little girl will happily give that dance away and her daddy will have to let go which is perfectly okay by me (not saying it will be easy). And my daily prayer will be for that guy to love her as Christ has loved the church, to assure and protect her, to encourage her in her walk with Christ, to forgive her when she needs forgiveness, to respect and walk every single day with her as they both seek to honor God.
A mother’s heart as she watches those little hands so safe in her father’s arms. It’s priceless to me; it’s magical and it’s beautiful.
Today it’s her father’s dance, even though tomorrow the dance may be another man’s.
This is so beautiful! ❤
Thank you 💓..It has my own heart melting as well.
Lovely, and the pictures are incredibly sweet 🙂

Thank you very much Eden.
Such special moments…and memories made. The love of the father for his daughter is where it begins.
Thank you Deborah. It was really special for our little girl. She is still talking about it today. She had so much fun dancing with her daddy.
Oh gosh, this brought so many wonderful memories of the Mother/Son dances I attended with my boys! Thank you so much for sharing the wonderful photos and your lovely daughter and her daddy!
Thank you Elizabeth. It was a very beautiful and special moment. I am sure your boys still carry those memories with them💕
Thank you Elizabeth. Being a parent is like a big jar of “sweet and sour”; You want them to grow but it’s hard to let go at every season of their lives. It’s beautiful though and i am sure your boys still hold those beautiful memories you gave to them as a mother.
Sis, this is SO precious! Thank you for sharing! Watching a daddy with his daughter is such a beautiful thing! Our four-year old just asked my husband this morning when he was going to take HER out on another date. We need to enjoy these moments, because like you said, someday it will be someone else’s turn. ❤
Thank you sis. It was just amazing to watch different fathers very emotional as they danced with their little girls. That moment turns even the toughest of guys into a “mash”. And yes they do grow very fast; before we know it, it will be another man’s dance 😭. I hope and pray that the fathers will continue to enjoy moments with their daughters as they assure their girls along the way…..💞
❤

This is so beautiful to read. Thank you for sharing. Also I cannot remember if I have already thanked you for the follow on my blog – if I have please forgive me. I am trying to catch up and I know we have already spoken, but not sure whether I actually thanked you on an earlier comment.
Love this! I also love the photos and the fact that she is sporting cowboy boots with a dress, as a former farm girl I have done it many a time. Lovely Father-Daughter moment.
Thank you Pamela. This little girl loves her books. They are her go to for every occasion; a nice Texas Girl.🙏
