cancer · Our Life

It’s hard to believe that it is already 2015 and we are on the roller coaster for the year. Yes going into the third week of January we sure are!
How can we not be thankful to God for His sovereign love over us?……..He has taken care of us and continues to do so. Last night as my hubby and I were laying in bed, we went back memory lane to when I was diagnosed with Liver cancer right after our little girl was born. We had just moved from West Texas for a new job for him, hadn’t found a church yet and had no friends. Yes it was hard. Into the whole (cancer “thing”), at some point we had to leave our little girl who was 3 months then with our parents so I could come home for chemotherapy. It was very hard and I think one of the hardest choices we have ever had to make.
Although it was hard, I trusted and still trust my in laws to take very good care of my baby/babies and for that I am and will always be grateful to them.
Coming to four years of being cancer free, how can I /we not be thankful to God?
Today, I chose to write about this because when I see/meet some body that is going through any cancer pain I hurt and I hurt deep. There is this sweet lady at our church in her 60s, lost her husband a little over a year ago and she has blood cancer. Yes the dreaded cancer that I find myself trying to run from and never have to hear about it again!!!!!
I have been and continue to pray for this lady (Miss Dot) that the Lord will bring her healing but most of all her strength, hope and Faith will remain in Him alone!
As my family continues to pray for Miss Dot, I pray that whoever reads this will join in prayer with us for her and many others who are having to go through similar pains.

Psalm 121 (ESV)

My Help Comes from the Lord

A Song of Ascents.

121 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
