Six years ago on June 7th, we got married in Hoima Uganda East Africa. This was at my wife’s grandparents home. In this home, life happened for my wife from the time she was a little girl; ran around, fetched firewood and water, watched mukaka (Grandma) cook, harvested food from the garden, broke a sweat playing, and experienced the life and death of her family. (Family is buried on that same land). We knew that our life would be in the US, so it was important to celebrate our wedding day in a place where my wife is rooted.
